RE: Whats wrong with campground water?

We always use campground water. But we use a Pur water filter pitcher for all drinking water just to get rid of any funky tastes or oders.

RE: Popup with three king beds?

Those are Queen size beds I believe, but I've seen em advertized as King size ----unless RV beds have different sizing than regular beds.
Actually, they are bigger than a queen (80 x 60) but smaller than a true king (80 x 76). Bunk end beds are 77 x 70 and dinette bed is 80 x 64.

RE: fleetwood power lift issue

I would suspect that having your fridge on battery power for that long of a drive is killing your battery even though you have a tow package on your Explorer. Try traveling with your fridge on LP and see if that causes the problem to go away.

RE: Popup with three king beds?

Our 04 Fleetwood Sequoia has 3 king size beds. Fleetwood/Coleman no longer offers this floorplan on their new PUPs. If you can find a used Sequoia, model years 04-07, you'll find what you're looking for.

RE: generator question

Best method, by far, is to plug the PUP power cord into the generator. As mentioned, your converter has a smart battery charger built into it, and will do a good job of recharging your battery. A couple of hours per day should do the job.

RE: fiiberglass hardtop bunk roofs

My parents had a 1968 Starcraft with the fiberglass roofs on the end. It was an exceptionally well made camper and gave them many years of good service. It had a dinette on each end of the box and was designed to sleep 8. It also had high walls so no galley setup was required.

RE: Coleman Dual Fuel problems

Have used good ole Coleman fuel for 30+ years and still using it with nary a problem. No residue or smells associated with gasoline. The slightly higher cost is insignificant as a can will last the entire summer.

RE: Bought a coffee maker, but...........

Get a percolator and learn how to use it. It will cost you around $20 Link and it will last you for decades. They works with any kind of stove and even on an open fire. When used correctly (timing is critical, don't overboil) it will make a great cup of coffee.

RE: Cassette Potty Chemical use Poll?

Totally agree with mike4947. We use the blue stuff but only use about an ounce for the 5 gallon holding tank of the cassette toilet. We never have a problem with either chemical or waste odors.

RE: Need advice on tires for Avalon trailer

There's nothing wrong with the tires that come on the Avalon. Don't overload them and keep them inflated to the max psi on the sidewall and you should be fine. I've gotten four good years of service from the tires that came on my PUP and they still look good. (Same ones that come on the Avalon)

RE: Propane tank question

Better yet,
Swap it out with a Blue Rhino tank at Lowes or Wal-Mart.

RE: FW sequoia owners - comments?

We are in our 5th camping season with our Sequoia and absolutely love it! The large U shaped dinette is great when our kids/grandkids join us. Having three king size beds is a real bonus for us. (Tall family) The ability to access the fridge and most of the cabinets with the roof down is a real plus when packing and unpacking. The shower/potty work great. We have had no problems with it at all.

RE: Front jack wheel-can I leave it off? find something else?

I have the exact same problem with my jack wheel. I carry the wheel in the back of the SUV when we go camping, but only use it in the driveway at home. At the campsite, the jack sits on a piece of 4x4.

RE: sway control???

Yep, friction sway control is all you need. But first things first... make sure your PUP is properly loaded. Tongue weight should be 10-15% of total PUP weight in order to prevent sway. Once that is done, the sway control is good insurance just in case you do get some sway.

I also use the tow-n-see. but do buy the convex for both sides.
Same here and agree with the convex recommendation.
